The purpose of writing this guide is to provide a very low intensity method to play PvE deadeye while providing quickness. This build is low cognition, has low physical complexity, and has very few repetitions. This build is functional in both open world and instanced content. This build also provides abundance of Might and Fury boons that support healers that are lacking in effort.
Since Weakening Whirl (Staff 2) does the most damage per point of Initiative, you want to use it as much as possible over all of your other skills. You may press and hold this skill to reduce the number of button presses (APM).

Build
Quickness DPS
[&DQUjGxw9Oj8MAQwBIBdYATMBMwGsFlYBKAAoAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACNgBZAAA=]
- Note: Using Improvisation increases the quickness uptime and makes the build easier to play at a cost of slightly reduced DPS
- You should prioritise quickness uptime instead of DPS as this affects the entire subgroup.
- It is okay to overcap on precision due to Practiced Tolerance
Rotation and Utilities
Improvisation, One in the Chamber and Fire for Effect paired with Mercy provides a high amount of Quickness right at the start of the fight. For quickness, you need to use Steal Time. Each steal provides two charges.
DPS Rotation
Precasts - Thieves Guild (use on refresh) and Hide in Shadows(optional)
- Start the fight with Deadeye's Mark (steal)
- Use Staff 2 for damage and fill with autos.
- Mercy provides extra initiative which is used for extra quickness.
Quickness Rotation
- For the quickness, you need to use Steal Time. Deadeye's Mark provides one charge.
- Mercy as a cantrip provides 1 charge of Steal Time and resets Deadeye's Mark.
- Your other cantrip(s) also provide 1 charge of Steal Time
- You may reserve Steal Time at full malice to gain stealth/Revealed and a damage boost through Revealed Training
- If you mess up your rotation, your group will lose quickness, for example
- using Mercy when Deadeye's Mark is about to refresh
- using Deadeye's Mark before using the charge from Mercy
- being split up from your group due to mechanics
- Consider taking improvisation if you find quickness difficult to upkeep.
Quickness Rotation with Improvisation
- Quickness Rotation
- Steal Time 1st charge -> Weakening Whirl (until malice is filled)
- Steal Time 2nd charge -> Weakening Whirl (until initiative is dry)
- Fill with Autos until Mercy is ready (Step 3)
- Mercy -> Steal Time -> Thieves Guild -> Deadeye's Mark
- Quickness Rotation (Repeat Step 3 -> Step 2 indefinitely)
- Steal Time 1st charge -> Weakening Whirl (until malice is filled)
- Steal Time 2nd charge -> Weakening Whirl (until initiative is dry)
- Fill with autos until Mercy is ready
- Using stolen skills at max malice will give stealth.
- Exiting Stealth will give revealed status which increases DPS through Revealed Training
- Note: Using Assassin's Signet and Shadow Flare during revealed can increase DPS. For simplicity, place this after the 2nd charge of Steal Time.
- Note: Using Shadow Flare will give an extra charge of Steal Time which can trigger revealed status again.
Crowd Control
- Malicious Hook Strike (Stealth Attack)
- Helmet Breaker (Staff 3 Flip)
- Basilisk Venom (Elite Swap)
Sustainability for Solo/OW
You may equip the following for extra sustainability:
- Relic of Zakiros
- Signet of Malice
- Invigorating Precision
Latest patch changes
Deadeye's Mark has no cast time and no longer interrupts your rotation. It now provides a shadowstep for melee builds.
