Notes


A Power DPS build with only 4 buttons to press, Sword Power Mechanist is a simple build that does consistent damage, although it is lacking in burst damage, making weaker on fights where high burst damage is required.

Build


Rotation


Press off cooldown:

  1. Radiant Arc (Sword 3)
  2. Refraction Cutter (Sword 2)
  3. Throw Mine
  4. Overclock Signet

in order of priority from top to bottom.

Your auto attack chain reduces the cooldown of Refraction Cutter (Sword 2) and Radiant Arc (Sword 3), allowing you to cast them more often. This lines up pretty well and results in you being able to use Radiant Arc (Sword 3) every other time you use Refraction Cutter (Sword 2). Using Throw Mine does NOT cancel your auto attack chain, allowing you to use it off cooldown without delaying the rest of your rotation.

Remember to also set your Mech skills to autocast, allowing you to reduce the APM of the build while losing minimal damage. You can opt to press them manually off cooldown as well, but it is recommended to leave them on autocast regardless.

Mech Skills:

  1. Explosive Knuckle
  2. Core Reactor Shot
  3. Jade Mortar

You can bring a Pistol instead of a Shield for about 1.5k+ more DPS, by using both Pistol skills off cooldown, but I will always recommend the Shield over Pistol as the Shield provides a lot of utility and personal survivability.

Crowd Control


Your CC skills are:

  1. Magnetic Shield (Shield 4)
  2. Static Shield (Shield 5)
  3. Throw Mine
  4. Overclock Signet
  5. Force Signet

However, Throw Mine and Overclock Signet are used as part of your damage rotation, and might not be off cooldown when you need to CC.

Both Magnetic Shield (Shield 4) and Static Shield (Shield 5) have to be pressed twice for CC.

Using Force Signet to CC will result in a DPS loss, and is not recommended unless using it will prevent a wipe.

Magnetic Shield (Shield 4) is also 3s long projectile reflect, while Static Shield (Shield 5) is a 2.5s long block, and can be used as your panic button.

Shift Signet is both a stunbreak and a shadowstep, and can be used to get out of a potential death scenario. However, using Shift Signet will cause your boons to stop copying over to your Mech, resulting in a DPS loss.
